We say it all the time around here — Good Vibes isn’t really a transportation company. It’s a community thing on wheels. And every once in a while, a day comes along that reminds us exactly why we do this work.
This summer, we got to be part of the 5th Annual DeVante Parker Youth Football Camp in Louisville. Hundreds of kids on the field at Ballard High School, learning football fundamentals from one of the best to ever come out of this city. And we got to play a small role in making the whole thing run smoothly.
A Hometown Hero Doing Hometown Work
If you grew up watching Louisville football, you already know the name. DeVante Parker is a Ballard High School and University of Louisville alum who went on to spend nine seasons in the NFL — most of them with the Miami Dolphins, plus stints with the Patriots and Eagles. He retired in 2024 with 402 career catches and over 5,600 receiving yards.
But the stat that hits different around here? Once he made it, he kept showing up.
The DeVante Parker Youth Football Camp has been running every summer since 2021 — bringing kids from all over Louisville together at the same Ballard field where he made his name. Coaches, current and former players, sponsors, volunteers, families. The whole thing is free for the kids, and the energy on that field is something you can feel from the parking lot.
What Good Vibes Did
We handled transportation logistics for the camp — getting people where they needed to be, on time, with zero stress. Simple as that. No fanfare, no banners, no big show. Just doing the thing we know how to do, so the people running the camp could focus on the kids.
That’s the part of this business that doesn’t show up on the website most of the time. The weddings and the bourbon tours and the corporate shuttles get the spotlight, but a huge chunk of what we do is the quiet work — moving teams, families, athletes, church groups, and community organizations who need a reliable ride and don’t want to think twice about it.
Why This Stuff Matters to Us
Our owner, Ras, has always run this company on a simple idea: every person who steps onto our bus is family. That’s not a marketing line — that’s a Louisville thing, a Rastafarian thing, a small-business thing. When community partners reach out, we say yes whenever we can, because that’s how the city we love stays the city we love.
Watching a kid catch his first real spiral from an NFL receiver who grew up six miles away? That’s the kind of moment that doesn’t have a price tag. We were happy to help make it possible.
Got a Group? We’ve Got a Ride.
Whether you’re running a youth camp, organizing a church trip, planning a corporate offsite, shuttling wedding guests, or putting together any kind of group event — we’d love to help.
We’ve got vans for smaller crews and full coaches for big operations. Flat-rate pricing. Real humans answering the phone. And drivers who know every back road in this city and every distillery on the trail.
A huge thank-you to DeVante Parker, The Superstar Market, every coach and volunteer, every sponsor, and every family who showed up. Louisville raised this thing together. We were honored to be part of it.
See y’all next year.
